When the Doctor Has No Answers

The frustration in my friend's voice was very tangible.

Her symptoms were real.

But the test results had not produced any answers.

Was it all in her head?

Was she just making it up?

NO!!!

She knew her body and when it was feeling "off."

It was simply that the doctor had not found the answers to her symptoms

But would they?

Based on my past medical history, no they wouldn't...not if it was the limbic system overreacting and the doctor had no training in that area.

I remember back in my early 40's when they couldn't find a reason for my own health crisis..

My symptoms were real. 

I was constantly exhausted.

I was allergic to everything I was eating.

Any kind of scent would set off a migraine.

In short, my health was a mess.

But no answers were ever found until 20 years later when I was reading a book as to why my health crisis had landed in the "unsolved medical mystery." box.

The answer lay in a part of my brain called the limbic system whose job is to handle all emotions; both positive and negative.

Unbeknownst to me, my lack of properly dealing with stress had caused my limbic system to overload, and like a breaker switch, had shut my body down.

It had been so severe that I had to take a year off work, sleep my life away, and then take another ten to fully recover.

Out of that came my understanding that when stress is left unchecked, your body takes a massive hit, resulting in disease and other physical health issues.

Like a bulging balloon when you put pressure on it, your body just shifts the internal pressure to another location, causing the health issues

Dr. Leaf says it this way: "Your brain is a responder...and eventually your body will break down and become vulnerable to disease."

Know your brain isn't the bad guy, life and the inability to handle the influx of stress is the culprit.

So, the next time the doctor can't find the cause of your physical discomfort, check your stress levels and ask yourself how well you are dealing with them. 

Also, ask yourself if you want to stop the cascade of increasing health issues sooner than later.

If you do and want to figure out if your limbic system is involved in creating those very real health problems, know that there are some pretty simple answers for deactivating your limbic system, allowing your health to improve.
