Ho Ho Ho Which Way Will I Go?

brain hacks emotional mastery Dec 08, 2022

The season that we have now entered can be crazy, frustrating, stressful, joyful, and even all of the above within a perfect storm.

So, what is the best way to keep your head above water, and find that sometimes elusive peace and joy?

Great question!

Know that you don't have to shut out the world.

You just have to make a choice.

What kind of choice?

The key is to work with your brain.

Your brain can stress out quite easily, especially if that negative, overwhelm, track is the one you go down year after year.

What you focus on is literally where the brain will take you because of the pathways that your choices have helped to build up over time.

That means if you constantly focus on the negative, overwhelming aspects of Christmas, that is all you will really experience.

Purposing instead to look for the good in the midst of the commercial mayhem, and other trappings of this season, will allow your brain to find the good things that Christmas holds.

It's not complicated.

It is not even beyond your reach.

But it is a choice.

You get to decide what you focus on.

Literally, you can train your brain to pick up on the good things.

It just means getting out of some of those old habits and learning to refocus.

Your brain will like it.

Your family, coworkers, and those at the sales tills will love it.

And hey...

You will even get to enjoy this season more.

Know it is NOT dependent on the externals.

It is really about where you decide to place your focus.

So, make a better choice, and know that every little choice that you make, especially when done consistently, will help to retrain the brain to enjoy the ho, ho, ho, of a Merry Christmas!

And one other thing...

Keep your eye on next week's blog because I have a free Christmas gift coming your way :)
